It is possible to add a membership to a household directly from the Household Profile. Once added, memberships can be tracked on the household memberships child form located under the Membership tab.
To add a membership from the household profile, complete the following steps:
Note: Notice the new member field is pre-populated with the name of the household and cannot be edited.
When a household purchases a membership, it is possible for the benefits of that membership to flow down to the members of the household. In order for the benefits of a membership to flow down to household members, the member type associated with the membership purchased and the relationship type of the individual to the household must be enabled to support membership flow down.
Please view the Enabling Membership Flow Down for Households help topic for details on enabling these two objects to support membership flow down.
The Individual Profile for the members of the household will update to reflect the flow down of benefits.
The receives member benefits field, located in the upper portion of the Individual Profile, will display a check mark (rather than a red X) signifying this individual is receiving benefits from the household membership. In addition the inherited memberships child form will update to show the membership that is providing the membership benefits.
Tip: Memberships can be managed by clicking the GoTo icon next to the membership you wish to manage on the household memberships child form. This will take you to the Membership Profile where changes can be made if needed.
